About us

Who we are

Sampaloc Goes Green Initiatives is an advocacy initiative formed in March 2021 as a vibrant creation of the Manila Blessed Family.

It was born out of dire necessity: to respond to hunger and further the cause of sustainable urban farming within our community. Our program aims to transform urban spaces into functional green areas. We build an environment-based and self-sufficient community in the heart of Manila by delivering free education on urban farming practices, appropriate farm inputs, and access to fresh products.

Our work focuses on educating and empowering young people to produce a generation that loves sustainability and works tirelessly to create a healthy environment.

Our approach

Our Mission
Sampaloc Goes Green Initiatives aims to improve community well-being through sustainable urban farming.

We strive to perform the following functions: Provision of farm kits to urban dwellers for free to get them to grow their food. Production of organic manure from biodegradable wastes helps reduce waste and provides natural farming inputs. Slashing community farms using abandoned or wasted areas and rooftops for active food production. It offers full community support through the provision of education, inputs to the farm, and easy access to fresh produce. With these, we ensure a greener and healthier environment and foster sustainability right within our community.

Our Vision
Create a resilient, green, sustainable city where urban farming prospers, enhancing food security at a local level while creating an appreciation for environmental stewardship.

We look to a future where unutilized urban spaces will turn into productive gardens or farms, communities will be empowered with resources and expertise in sustainable farming practices, and the aesthetics of local parks and public spaces will improve for well-being and sensitivity towards the environment. Our social enterprise will provide jobs in the process while promoting eco-friendly farming practices and goods.
